Press Release | December Peer Support Events

Disability Network Supports Inclusive Community

Peer support is one of the core services at Disability Network. Who better knows the issues that individuals face than another person with a disability. We strive to support engagement and relationship building as peer groups help prevent social isolation by connecting with others during the pandemic.

Men's Group
Zoom Meetings, Mondays, December 7 to 28, 10:00 to 11:00 am
This group is for men in our community seeking support, an opportunity to learn new skills and a chance to connect with other men with disabilities. We will work on managing stress, frustrations and issues they may be experiencing around social distancing.

Women's Group, Sharing Herstory
Zoom Meetings, Mondays, December 7 to 28, 11:00 to 12:00 noon
We are living in an unprecedented time of social distancing and sheltering in place. We all may be feeling a bit isolated and confused. This is not a face to face meeting, but a virtual meeting for women with disabilities that can be done via the computer or by phoning in.

Peer Advocacy Group
Zoom Meetings, Thursdays, December 3, 10 and 17, 2:00 to 3:00 pm
Learn how to advocate for your needs and the needs of others. Learn leadership skills. Voice what is important to you!

Virtual Accessible Gaming Social Groups
Disability Network is excited to share the Virtual Accessible Gaming Social Group as a way for people with disabilities to connect online and play together. Visit online at disabilitynetwork.org/events/ for current virtual gaming group event descriptions and registration details.

Peer Support Virtual New Year’s Eve Party

Let us welcome in the New Year with some of the most popular events from this year of Digital Peer Support Programs.
