What's At Stake?

An estimated $140 million of community financial resources are lost to our friends and neighbors if we are not all counted.

The State of Michigan will receive $1,800 annually for each person counted in the census who is living in Michigan. 2019 demographic data reports 416,649 people are living in our 17 county service area.  The census may only capture 81% of the population.

That means our communities could lose out on an estimated 19% of the funding for these vital services. That would equal an estimated $142,493,958 of lost annual funding for our 17 county service area. The only way to prevent this from happening is for everyone to participate in the 2020 census and be counted! #DisabilityCounts2020
