Disability Network Northern Michigan is excited to share a virtual social group celebrating online digital board games. This group meets online from 1:00 to 4:00 on Mondays, with a focus on board games that can be played on  https://boardgamearena.com or through Steam. These are games that are printed on cardboard that people have translated to work online.  Some of the games people like are games like Carcassonne, where you’re competing with your friends to try to build a cooler city than them or Hanabi, where you’re working with your friends together to try to build an awesome fireworks display.

Some games are designed to be played where everyone is on the same team. Some games are designed to be played where everyone is working solo to win just for themselves. If there’s a specific style of game you like best, please let me know, so I can help make sure that game happens for you.  If there’s a board game you see on https://boardgamearena.com that you think you’d like to play, let Andrew know so the gaming group can try it out.

Please feel free to stop in for as long as you wish. This event is free, with space for 15 gamers at a time. If you can’t make it for the entire time, that is acceptable. We’re just happy to have you joining us for the times that work for you. Please register in advance with Andrew at andrew@disabilitynetwork.net

To play these games, you will need the following.
  1. A working internet connection.
  2. A personal email address (once you have an email address, please send a message to andrew@disabilitynetwork.net).
  3. A working tablet or computer.
  4. A Discord account (you can register for an account at https://discord.com/).
  5. A Board Games Arena account (you can register for an account at https://boardgamearena.com).
  6. Completed Disability Network Northern Michigan paperwork. When you email Andrew, he will send a copy of the paperwork to you. After that paperwork is filled out by you or a family member, you just email it back to him. This paperwork can be filled out on a computer or phone.
