Access for Everyone is a campaign led by local individuals to ensure EVERYONE has the ability to actively work, play, and live in our community.
This grassroots movement advocates for universal accessibility and provides solutions to break down the barriers that prevent people with disabilities from participating in our community.
Access Team: Qualified volunteers with various disabilities analyze and measure the accessibility of public spaces. The team provides suggestions for affordable ways to remove existing barriers and create welcoming environments. If you would like to become an accessibility volunteer, click here.
Disability Awareness: Disability experts provide insightful training to individuals, businesses, property management and organizations about disability decorum and inclusive environments.
Technical Assistance/Accessibility: We provide assistance and guidance to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and universal design.
LIS'N: Assists to eliminate communication barriers for persons who are deaf or hard of hearing. Answers questions and provides information on effective communication with persons who are deaf. To learn more about this program, click here.
Action: Community members work together to create universally accessible spaces – including parks, beaches, trails, etc.

Support Our Work
Disability can occur at any age and at any moment—in fact, 80% of us will have a disability at some point in our lifetime. Your support will help us to continue promoting personal empowerment and positive social change for individuals with disabilities. For every dollar invested in Disability Network, $13 is returned to our region. Our programs boost the economy, create a more inclusive community, and offer tax savings for Michigan residents.
About Us
Most people equate disability with limitations. It’s our job to change the perceptions and realities that prevent people with disabilities from sharing in the community. We provide training, mentoring and referrals to help people with disabilities and their families live productive lives. We also work on a larger scale, helping governments and businesses make changes that benefit everyone in the community.
